25mm Anglo-Norman Standard Bearer (Old Glory - Painted by Nate)

Once again, I've delved into "greyscale" washing, and, after a bit of highlighting, weathering, and Hudson & Allen Static Grass, I have reached a result with which I am quite pleased. Like all of my flags, standards and shields, these are hand-painted. The standard itself is that of a fictional Anglo-Norman warlord, Godfrey de Mortain, Earl of Devon.

25mm Viking Chieftain (Old Glory - Painted by Nate)

The "greyscale" technique used to paint this chap was taught to me by my good friend Josh. You can see his work on his painting blog here. It involved the use of thinned-down paint and commercially-available ink washes. I think it's absolutely brilliant, and I'm proud of the results.

28mm Space Marine Leader (Games Workshop - Painted by Gabriel)

This is one of the marines for a concept fringe army. He is one of the more normal looking leaders. This will be a mutation heavy army that is still loyal to the Emperor. I feel the head and hair are quite well done (minus the eyes). The armor and cloak are just flat out some of my better work. All in all, a good piece.

28mm Wizard (TSR Classics - Painted by Gabriel)

This wizard is from a very old TSR Classics line. Not a bad looking
mini with a very interesting base upgrade. The cloak was the major
focal point. It's not a bad piece, if not a bit rushed.

28mm Easterling Archer (Games Workshop - Painted by Nate)

This fellow is a test figure for a batch of Easterlings to come. I made extensive use of washes on this one, particularly a lovely one from Citadel called "Devlan Mud". It brings the color values down quite a lot, particularly on the armor.

54mm Great Lakes Colonial House Facade (Hobby Bunker - Painted by Nate)

This was a bit of a departure for me, but I got out the dry-brush and went to work. The color scheme is loosely patterned after a house that stands on the grounds at Fort Niagara, in New York State.

28mm Rezolution APAC Ninja (Aberrant Games - Painted by Gabriel)

This was a real push for an interesting base. It was my first run with Woodland Scenics "Real Water." I feel it came out looking rather nice. It was also a first try in many years at painting gem-like parts. The final product wasn't bad at all. His counterpart is still on the workbench.

54mm Mexican Infantryman (Conte Collectibles - Painted by Nate)

Here's another fellow from the "Alamo" Range. Normally I don't care for painting blood on a miniature, but here I felt it was necessary to set off the bandage on the face. Another example of block painting, washing, and black-lining with a few three-step shades here and there. A clean, "Toy Soldier" look. I'm pleased.

Space Marines (GW - Painted By Gabriel)

I believe these two are from an old box of Blood Angels Death Company. For a paint job after taking a break for a few years, I think they came out fine. The tactical squad commander--the grey one--was my first attempt at oil washing. All in all, not bad.

54mm Mexican Officer(Conte Collectibles, Painted by Nate)

This fellow is a plastic one, from their "Alamo" range. He is block painted and washed, and a simple three-step highlight and shade was done on his face. I think he looks almost regretful or sad, like a man who has seen too much of war for one day...
